Were going on a road trip!! Yahoo! Oh I wish that was my first thoughts when were heading to beautiful sunny St. George.
But my reality of thoughts are WHAT am I going to eat & WHERE am I going to eat while we are vacation? From past experiences leaving my food options up to fast food places along the way, usually leaves me hungry and in tears.
So we wanted to share our top tips when we’re headed out on a road trip…
1-Pack snacks and treats you know are gluten-free. That way you always have something you know you can eat in the car.
2-Taking some time BEFORE the trip to prepare foods that we can keep in a cooler. Our favorites are our 7 Layer Bean Dip and Rice Pudding (we will be posting these later for you on the blog).
3-Research the area we are staying in to see about restaurants and other foods available that offer gluten-free options. We love the internet for this! We LOVE Costa Vida and ALWAYS know we are safe eating there.
4-Grocery Stores can be life savors. There is always fresh fruits & veggies, yogurt, hummus, rice cakes, and canned beans. Over the years we have seen stores like Walmart add gluten-free boxed foods.
5-Bring things to help if you have a gluten reaction. What works wonders for us is Redmond Clay, ginger, and peppermint tea.
