Happy 2nd Birthday little Jedi! It seemed like yesterday we found out the joyous news that we were expecting you and today you turn 2!! You are such a joy to us. We love watching you as you play trucks, build with tools (yours and Dad’s ö), dance with Elmo, beat your brother in soccer, and cook in your play kitchen. You crack us up!!
We tried and waited for 10 years to add you to our family. Going through that many years of infertility taught me so many lessons in patience and trust. Patience in God’s time…patience in my body…trusting that healing can take place in my body…believing that God hears our prayers and knows the desire in our hearts. You are a miracle to me in every single way!! 10 years of infertility treatments, with 2 rounds of IVF that never took, left me feeling hopeless and discouraged. I found light, hope, and answers when being diagnosed with Celiac’s Disease and that started us on our gluten-free journey. YOU were my end result I wanted when they told me I had to cut out all gluten and I thought what in the world am I going to eat now!?! Those days when it was tough to change habits and eat differently or not being able to eat like the group you were with or watch as everyone else enjoyed food that you couldn’t eat…all those moments YOU were my highest goal and helped me see beyond that moment. So when others ask ‘isn’t it hard to eat gluten-free’, I can easily say NO. Because you, my dear Jedi are proof to me that the body can heal, there is a huge connection to gluten and infertility, and miracles happen every single day! I love you sweet boy!!
